The new Huawei Watch Face designer initiative has registered more than 1,000 creators across the Middle East and Africa. This community includes designers and artists from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, other GCC markets, Egypt, and South Africa. The program aims to bring more personalization options to users of the company’s wearables.
Through this initiative, regional creators can publish their work internationally. This allows them to reach a global audience through the company’s digital network. The program is open to graphic designers, illustrators, UI/UX professionals, digital artists, creative freelancers, and design students.
Expanding the Huawei Watch Face Network
Creators who are familiar with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator can register for the program. Once registered, they receive guidance on design standards and the submission process. Approved designs are published through the official store on the HUAWEI Health app, which currently offers more than 100,000 customizable options. This platform helps users find a suitable Huawei Watch Face for different occasions and personal styles.
William Hu, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group Cloud Service in the Middle East and Africa, stated that the growing community reflects the depth of creative talent in the region. He noted that connecting regional creators with global users helps local ideas reach an international audience. Furthermore, he stated that this network gives consumers more ways to personalize their smart devices.

Target Audience and Design Tools
Independent regional designer Mohammed Nasser stated that the initiative provided an accessible way to turn his ideas into daily-use designs. He noted that the onboarding process was simple, allowing him to start quickly. Nasser added that the platform offers creators the opportunity to showcase their work to a global audience, turning wearable technology into a new canvas for creativity.
Global Reach and Distribution Channels
The initiative is designed to support creators from various backgrounds, including developers and other professionals with relevant design skills. By publishing on the store, artists can showcase their custom Huawei Watch Face designs inspired by their cultures. This digital distribution channel connects local talent directly with millions of active wearable users worldwide.
Academic Collaborations and Future Plans
As part of its regional outreach, the company has collaborated with universities and creative communities. Earlier this year, it hosted a design workshop at Ajman University. During this event, participants explored design requirements, the publishing process, and the opportunities available through the program.
The company plans to continue growing this community through further university collaborations, workshops, and creator engagement activities. Interested designers, artists, and developers can register by contacting the program’s official email address. Users can also access these designs through the apps platform on their mobile devices.
