The IONIQ 6 N from Hyundai Motor Company has been named the 2026 World Performance Car, with the award presented at the 22nd annual World Car Awards ceremony held during the 2026 New York International Auto Show on April 1, 2026.
This marks the second time in three years that Hyundai’s N performance brand has taken the World Performance Car title, following the IONIQ 5 N win in 2024. It also extends Hyundai Motor’s streak to five consecutive years of recognition at the World Car Awards.
What Makes the IONIQ 6 N a World Performance Car
The IONIQ 6 N delivers up to 641 hp when the N Grin Boost function is active, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds. Those figures place it among the fastest production electric sedans currently available.
Two driver-focused features set the car apart from other electric vehicles in its class. The N e-Shift system simulates the sensation of a manual gearshift, while N Active Sound+ generates an engineered audio experience inside the cabin.
Battery and Charging Specifications
The IONIQ 6 N uses an 84.0 kWh battery pack. Under optimal conditions with a 350-kW charger, the battery charges from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 18 minutes. That charging speed addresses one of the most common concerns among performance EV buyers.
