Infobip launched its SIM-based Number Verification solution to help mobile network operators expand authentication services and integrate with enterprises. The launch aims to replace traditional one-time passwords with silent identity verification over cellular and Wi-Fi networks.
How SIM-based Number Verification Works
The system uses the SIM card and the mobile network as a trusted identity layer. Consequently, it cryptographically verifies that a mobile number matches the SIM card inside the device, confirming possession of the phone without manual code entry. This method supports token-based authentication and modern user consent flows.
Furthermore, the solution connects to enterprise systems through Network API aggregation, giving businesses access to operator-level cybersecurity authentication tools. In addition, it reduces reliance on mobile-data-only connections, allowing verification across Wi-Fi environments.
