Discussions focused on identifying priority areas where development funding can strengthen national tourism training, education programs, and healthcare facilities across the Caribbean nation. The meeting also addressed post-hurricane reconstruction requirements under Jamaica’s Tourism 3.0 strategic framework.

The Saudi Fund for Development operates as a government agency that provides development assistance to developing nations through social and infrastructure financing. The institution has delivered over 20 billion dollars in funding across 741 international projects. Since its establishment, the entity has supported vital infrastructure, healthcare, and educational programs worldwide to foster long-term economic resilience. In addition, these discussions align with Jamaica’s strategy to secure international partnerships for local capacity building.

Director of Tourism Donovan White stated that the potential collaboration highlights the direct link between tourism expansion and social infrastructure. He noted that a well-trained workforce remains central to long-term national wellbeing and economic stability.
Technical Visits and Next Steps
Both parties agreed to maintain technical discussions to define exact areas of cooperation. The planned roadmap includes meetings with Saudi Eskab and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. Furthermore, senior fund representatives will conduct a technical assessment visit to Jamaica to evaluate project requirements on site.
The upcoming mission will enable specialists to review local facilities, assess project feasibility, and coordinate directly with Jamaican authorities. These joint initiatives will help Jamaica address structural gaps while advancing sustainable growth within its primary economic and educational sectors.
