Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) has signed a strategic agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. The partnership aims to support innovators and researchers within the industrial and mining sectors, enabling them to transform theoretical ideas into scalable, market-ready products.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of H.E. Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and H.E. Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, CEO of KFSHRC.

The agreement was formally signed by Professor Jackie Yi Ying, Director General of Research and Innovation at KFSHRC, and Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al Dughaim, Director General of the General Department of Innovation at the Ministry.

A Strategic Partnership at UNIDO

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held in Riyadh. The event saw participation from 173 member states, underscoring the global significance of this collaboration.

Under this agreement, KFSHRC is designated as a key service provider within the Innovative Industrial and Mining Products Program.

Transforming Ideas into Reality

The program is designed to guide innovators through the entire lifecycle of product development. KFSHRC and the Ministry will support projects through several critical stages:

  • Idea Incubation: Idea emergence and initial testing.
  • Protection: Intellectual property registration.
  • Development: Prototype design and business model development.
  • Growth: Training, mentorship, and project financing.
  • Market Entry: Production planning, expansion strategies, and export support.

Enhancing Quality and Competitiveness

Both parties will collaborate to provide scientific consultations and access to specialized expertise for idea analysis. By offering access to advanced research resources and evaluation tools, the partnership aims to enhance the quality of innovation and increase readiness for implementation.
