The expansion of LG and NVIDIA robotics initiatives took a step forward as executives from both companies met at the new Data Factory in Seoul. The meeting at the Yangjae R&D Campus followed a memorandum of understanding signed on August 13 at NVIDIA headquarters in Santa Clara, California. Both parties gathered just four days later to solidify plans for commercializing advanced robotic systems.
Building the Yangjae Data Factory
The Yangjae Data Factory covers 10,000 square meters across four floors, comprising one basement level and three above ground. LG deployed its LG CLOiD home robots across replicated environments to generate and process physical operational data. Scheduled to open fully by late 2026, the facility will eventually house several hundred autonomous units.

Inside the facility, robots train in simulated settings modeled after actual production sites, including a washing machine plant in Tennessee. Furthermore, the units operate in logistics automation environments alongside LG CNS and manipulation test spaces with LG Innotek to test robotic hands.
Advancing the LG and NVIDIA Robotics Pipeline
Data gathered from physical trials connects directly to the NVIDIA software stack. The workflow incorporates NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, NVIDIA Cosmos open world models, and the open NVIDIA Isaac development platform. Consequently, this pipeline creates synthetic datasets to accelerate robot training across smart devices and industrial machinery.
By the end of this year, LG expects to generate 100,000 hours of combined physical and synthetic training data, which equals roughly 12 years of learning. The organization plans to apply these datasets directly toward refining its Robot Foundation Model for humanoid machines.

Strategic Expansion Across Commercial Sectors
LG recently created a dedicated Robotics Business Center reporting directly to the chief executive officer to manage companywide operations. Moreover, the business aims to translate its hardware manufacturing experience into an integrated supply chain that spans core actuators and consumer units in the global economy.

The continuous data flywheel established by the LG and NVIDIA robotics partnership aims to supply reliable machine intelligence across residential and commercial sectors. As production scales up, LG intends to broaden its product catalog from industrial logistics equipment into everyday home robotics.
