LG Electronics presented its LG HVAC component solutions for commercial rooftop units at AHR Expo 2026, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from February 2 to 4. The lineup includes scroll compressors, electronically commutated (EC) motors, EC fans, and drives — all built on the company’s proprietary technologies. LG said the portfolio strengthens its position as a global provider in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.
Single-Provider Model Simplifies System Design
LG’s vertically integrated design and manufacturing approach delivers end-to-end HVAC component solutions. By sourcing critical components from a single provider, customers benefit from simplified system design and streamlined maintenance through one point of contact. The lineup includes large scroll compressors ranging from 6 to 27.5 refrigeration tons (RT), along with fan motors, EC motors, and drives for commercial rooftop systems.
LG HVAC Component Solutions Aligned with 2029 U.S. DOE Standards
LG HVAC component solutions are designed to meet upcoming energy-efficiency and refrigerant transition regulations for commercial and residential systems in North America, set to take effect in 2029. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced stricter standards that prioritize real-world, partial-load operating conditions over conventional full-load capacity metrics. LG offers a complete commercial component lineup across refrigerant types and power supply configurations, enabling equipment replacement without requiring a full system redesign.
Scroll Compressor Configurations Reach Up to 70 Tons
With tandem and trio configuration options, LG’s scroll compressors extend capacity coverage up to 70 tons. A parallel design supports extended capacity and strong efficiency at partial loads. Moreover, a combination of fixed-speed and two-stage compressors delivers a 12- to 27.5-ton capacity range suited to diverse commercial rooftop applications.
LG’s fixed-speed scroll compressors incorporate enhanced motor efficiency and refined bearing designs that reduce friction. Two-stage scroll compressors modulate between 67 and 100 percent capacity, sustaining performance as operating conditions change. Specifically, the two-stage model operates at approximately 67 percent in energy-saving mode and at 100 percent in high-demand conditions.
Large-Scale EC Fans Complement the Compressor Lineup
LG is also introducing large-scale EC fans designed for increased efficiency and durability. An optimized structural design mitigates airflow resistance, while reinforced fan construction reduces energy loss. LG’s proprietary EC motor technology further enhances low-noise operation and intelligent system control for demanding commercial applications.
“Our total component solutions empower customers to develop more efficient and reliable commercial HVAC systems while simplifying service and maintenance. By providing a broad portfolio of core components from a single, trusted source, we continue to advance customer-focused innovation and demonstrate our long-term commitment to sustainable and forward-thinking HVAC solutions.”

Background and Company Context
LG’s Component Solution division has produced more than one billion compressors and motors since beginning motor production in 1962. The division operates as part of the LG Electronics Home Appliance Solution Company, which also develops kitchen and living appliance solutions. Furthermore, the company recently integrated its Robot Business Division to incorporate advanced robot technologies into its home solutions portfolio. The commercial HVAC market in North America faces significant product redesign pressure as the 2029 DOE regulatory deadline approaches.
