LG compressor motor technologies took center stage at AHR Expo 2026, as LG Electronics showcased two proprietary component designs in Las Vegas, Nevada, from February 2 to 4. The company presented the LG BHA Series – DualJet™ for reciprocating compressors and the LG CurvedSpoke™ for BLDC motors.

BHA Series – DualJet™ Reciprocating Compressor
The LG BHA Series – DualJet™ targets refrigeration applications using a dual-flow refrigerant structure. This design balances internal pressure during compression, optimizing refrigerant flow and improving efficiency under real-world operating conditions.
Moreover, the compressor incorporates built-in protection and diagnostic functions. These functions continuously monitor operating conditions, enabling proactive fault detection and system adjustment to support long-term reliability.
CurvedSpoke™ Technology for BLDC Motors
The LG CurvedSpoke™ technology applies to BLDC motors used in residential air-conditioning indoor units. Its arc-shaped magnet design reduces motor size by approximately 12 percent while increasing energy density through optimized curved magnet placement.
Specifically, the curved-magnet design increases magnet volume by approximately 6.5 percent. The partial-bridge rotor structure reduces magnetic flux leakage, improving motor efficiency by approximately 3.4 percent at the same size. These figures are based on performance parameters of 1.21 kgf·cm torque at 1,320 RPM.
As a result, the technology supports system-level miniaturization and overall weight reduction in residential HVAC applications. Consequently, manufacturers can maintain the same efficiency while reducing the physical footprint of motor components.
