LG Electronics has announced the launch of its new gaming monitor, the LG UltraGear evo GM9 (model 27GM950B), featuring a 5K resolution display. The company first revealed this monitor at the Consumer Electronics Show 2026. It is designed to meet the growing demand for high-resolution displays in the gaming sector.
The new monitor features a 27-inch screen with a resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels. It uses Hyper Mini LED technology to provide precise lighting control and high contrast. Consequently, this technology allows the monitor to achieve a peak brightness of 1250 nits.

Furthermore, the display has received VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. It also features 2,304 local dimming zones, which is 1.5 times more than conventional Mini LED monitors. This setup reduces the halo effect and improves overall image clarity.

Hyper Mini LED Technology
Notably, the monitor includes artificial intelligence features to enhance the user experience. The integrated artificial intelligence chip supports 5K upscaling, which improves lower-resolution content without requiring additional graphics card performance. In addition, the system optimizes both scene rendering and audio output.
Dual Mode and Connectivity
Users can switch between two display modes depending on their needs. Specifically, the dual-mode feature allows switching between 5K resolution at 165Hz and QHD resolution at 330Hz. Both modes offer a 1 millisecond gray-to-gray response time to ensure smooth motion.
For connectivity, the monitor includes a DisplayPort 2.1 port and a USB-C port with 90W power delivery. These ports allow users to transfer data and charge laptops using a single cable. Moreover, the monitor supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium to prevent screen tearing.
Regional Availability and Pricing
The LG UltraGear evo is also suitable for professional creators who require precise color accuracy. The product will be available in the United Arab Emirates starting July 2026. Subsequently, LG plans to launch the monitor in other Gulf Cooperation Council markets later this year.
