The Nature Impact Accelerator has officially launched to support initiatives restoring critical habitats across the Middle East, North Africa, Türkiye, and Southeast Asia. Companies Creating Change (C3) developed this program in partnership with HSBC to scale nature-based solutions. Consequently, the initiative aims to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and community resilience in these regions.
Overview of the Nature Impact Accelerator
Habitat conservation and restoration could deliver up to 37 percent of the climate mitigation needed by 2030. However, current investment in these solutions remains well below the level required to achieve global land restoration goals. Therefore, the Nature Impact Accelerator helps bridge this gap by providing technical expertise and funding pathways to community-led initiatives.
Program Structure and Support Phases
The 10-week program will support an initial cohort of 20 initiatives through intensive expert-led capacity building workshops. Specifically, these sessions will focus on strengthening technical, operational, and financial readiness. In addition, participants will receive training on impact measurement to track their environmental progress.
After the initial workshops, the top 10 to 12 initiatives will advance to the second phase. During this stage, participants will receive personalized one-to-one coaching from leading practitioners. David Ramos, Head of Philanthropy at HSBC, stated that nature-based solutions need more funding to tackle climate risk effectively.
Three Priority Environmental Themes
The program focuses on three priority themes to address specific environmental challenges. These themes include dryland and desert habitat restoration, urban nature and heat resilience, and wetlands and freshwater habitat restoration. Furthermore, the initiative connects participants with municipalities, NGOs, and corporates to build strategic partnerships.
Medea Nocentini, Founder of C3, stated that the Nature Impact Accelerator creates a platform that brings together practical capacity building and implementation support. She added that the program helps community-driven initiatives grow and scale their impact. Ultimately, the program will culminate in a showcase event at the HSBC headquarters.
Application Details and Timeline
Applications for the inaugural cohort of the program are now open to eligible organizations. Interested initiatives must submit their applications through the official website before August 16, 2026. Meanwhile, C3 continues to expand its network of over 7,000 experts and 1,000 investors to support global change-makers.
This initiative aligns with broader efforts in education and training to build sustainable business models. By integrating environmental goals with economy and business strategies, the program supports long-term regional development.
