Nokia and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have partnered to deliver agentic AI slicing for 5G-Advanced networks, with operators du and Orange set to demonstrate the offering at MWC26 Barcelona. The companies said the solution uses agentic artificial intelligence to analyse real-world internet data, including locations, events, traffic, incidents, and maps.
How Agentic AI Slicing Works
Nokia’s AI slicing technology, powered by AWS, enables operators to apply adaptive network slicing across a range of applications. The system processes live data to create services that respond to dynamic real-world conditions, the companies said. As a result, operators can adjust network resources in near real time based on demand signals.
Three Key Use Cases
Nokia and AWS outlined three primary use cases for the telecommunications offering. First, intent-based enterprise and industry slicing measures live network KPIs and automatically adjusts RAN policies to meet enterprise SLAs across campuses, business districts, and city areas. Second, on-demand slicing uses agentic AI to boost network performance for selected 5G base stations, benefiting 5G-Advanced and FWA customers engaged in gaming, streaming, and AI applications. Third, agentic AI for mass events analyses network data and patterns to set slicing policies during high-demand scenarios.

The demo marks a practical deployment step for a technology that Nokia described as a milestone in the evolution of AI-native 5G networks. Moreover, the partnership signals growing operator interest in using AI to manage network resources dynamically rather than through static configurations.
