The technology agreement between Nutanix and MEWA focuses on modernizing digital infrastructure and expanding artificial intelligence adoption in Saudi Arabia. Signed during the LEAP 2026 conference in Riyadh, the Memorandum of Understanding outlines a framework to upgrade government technical systems through hybrid multicloud environments.

Dr. Abdullhameed Abdullah Aleliwi, Deputy Minister for Information Technology and Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, signed the agreement alongside Talal Al-Saif, Regional Director for Saudi Arabia at Nutanix. Both parties confirmed that the initiative directly addresses technical modernization across ministerial platforms.

How Nutanix and MEWA Target Cloud Modernization
Under the new pact, Nutanix and MEWA will build operational pathways for application mobility across on-premises data centers and external cloud settings. Furthermore, this deployment uses standard cloud tools from Nutanix to reduce architectural complexity and support active computing demands across distinct ministerial departments.
The software framework allows flexible workload migration without service interruptions. In addition, the deployment strategy will create reliable digital environments capable of handling advanced analytics and emerging automated workloads across agricultural and environmental programs.
Operational Resilience and Security Systems
Business continuity remains a central focus of the partnership. Specifically, the agreement establishes protocols for disaster recovery and operational durability to protect critical data systems against service disruptions.
The implementation will also upgrade defensive postures across technical assets. Integrating hybrid multicloud management provides unified operational control, which helps the ministry build resilient protection against potential cybersecurity incidents.
Developing Local Technical Capabilities
Knowledge transfer forms another core component of the project. Nutanix and MEWA will implement specialized training initiatives to train Saudi professionals in multicloud administration and modern data architecture.
