Nutanix has announced new capabilities for the Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP) designed to help organizations operate reliably as artificial intelligence workloads expand and cloud environments grow more complex. The company introduced features across infrastructure, storage, and management to address supply constraints and data sovereignty needs.
Agentic AI and Modern Application Support
The Nutanix Agentic AI solution, announced during NVIDIA GTC 2026, is currently in early access and designed to help enterprises build and operate AI applications on NCP. The full solution will be available in the second half of 2026 and include a secure, high-performance virtualization foundation for AI infrastructure, integrating compute, storage, networking, and Kubernetes services to simplify deployment and operations.
NKP Metal, announced today, extends the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform to support Kubernetes deployments directly on bare-metal infrastructure. The capability, available in early access with general availability in the second half of 2026, delivers performance for edge environments and AI training workloads that rely on dense GPU infrastructure.
Storage and Data Management Updates
Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) 5.3 is now generally available and suited for transforming object storage into a performance storage tier required for AI operations. The release expands Smart Tiering to enable seamless data movement to Google Cloud and OVHCloud S3, while adding multitenant object scaling and quotas to support large AI data lakes. Later in 2026, NUS will introduce Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) acceleration for S3-compatible object storage to increase throughput for AI training datasets and data-intensive pipelines.
Nutanix Data Lens 2.0, now generally available, provides ransomware analytics, data audit and governance, and visibility across distributed storage footprints. The solution can run fully on-premises, including in air-gapped environments for organizations requiring cybersecurity and sovereignty compliance.
Infrastructure Ecosystem Expansion
Nutanix announced the broadest expansion of infrastructure support in its history, strengthening integrations with a global ecosystem of hardware partners. The Foundation Central appliance simplifies deployment of Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure and the AHV hypervisor on enterprise servers from Cisco, Dell, Fujitsu, HPE, and Lenovo.
Additional capabilities now available include synchronous disaster recovery support for Dell PowerFlex and enhanced Everpure integration extending support from //x and //xl FlashArrays to the new //c FlashArray platform. Coming later in 2026, the company plans to expand support for AMD GPU-accelerated compute servers targeting AI workloads, integrate with Cisco Unified Edge and Cisco Secure AI Factory, make Dell PowerStore support generally available, expand collaboration with Lenovo across ThinkSystem storage and servers, and add support for NetApp ONTAP systems.
Sovereign Control and Multi-Cloud Management
Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) is being expanded to support more deployment options across hyperscalers. Secure government cloud regions such as AWS GovCloud are now generally available, with AWS European Sovereign Cloud coming later in 2026. The introduction of Hyperdisk and C3 bare-metal instance support with NC2 on Google Cloud in the second half of 2026 will provide customers the flexibility to scale storage independent of compute.
Organizations can run workloads in the cloud to support regulatory, latency, or procurement needs without refactoring applications while retaining flexibility to bring them back on-premises. For organizations facing hardware availability challenges, these options provide the flexibility to deploy and scale critical workloads without lengthy delays.
Unified Cloud Management Platform
Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM 2.0) is now generally available and built on a new architecture enabling customers to manage large numbers of clusters at scale across multiple Prism Central instances. The platform provides multisite, multidomain management that unifies operations across large deployments.
NCM 2.0 brings Cost Governance on-premises as part of the platform rearchitecture, eliminating the need for a separate SaaS application. Customers get AIOps, self-service capabilities, and cost governance in a single experience. The unified console lets customers track metering, showback, and budgeting while keeping all cost data within their own infrastructure, addressing economy and compliance requirements for organizations managing complex distributed cloud environments.
