Rixos Murjana resort officially opened in King Abdullah Economic City on February 16, 2026, marking the launch of Saudi Arabia’s largest all-inclusive resort. The Tourism Development Fund financed and invested in the project, in partnership with Emaar Economic City and FTG company.
Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Development Fund, inaugurated the resort. Qusai Al-Fakhri, Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Development Fund, and Fettah Tamince, Chairman of the Board of Rixos Hotels, attended the opening ceremony.
Resort Features and Capacity
The resort features 488 rooms and suites, many with sea views, alongside 33 villas. Moreover, the property includes hospitality facilities, leisure amenities, a fitness center, a sports complex, and meeting and conference facilities. The project will generate 250 job opportunities for Saudi nationals.

Tourism Development Fund’s Role
The Tourism Development Fund served as the project’s financier and investor. Consequently, the resort embodies the Fund’s vision to empower the private sector and attract foreign direct investment. The project reflects national and international partnerships in delivering hospitality developments.

Design and Accommodation Options
The resort’s interiors draw inspiration from Hijazi coastal architecture, reimagined through a contemporary and sustainable lens. Guests can opt for Club Privé by Rixos, an exclusive villa experience with butler services, in addition to overwater villas. The resort’s private Club House and Beach Club are reserved for Club Privé guests.
The property features the longest swimming pools in the Middle East, measuring 111 meters in length. Furthermore, Solara Beach club offers a setting for relaxation throughout the day. The Anjana Spa includes 12 treatment rooms for men and women, steam and sauna services, and couple’s suites.
Dining and Entertainment Facilities
The resort offers international restaurants and cafés. Signature venues include Terra Mare, Alâ Aksam steakhouse, Piazzetta Italiana for Italian cuisine, MykOrini for Middle Eastern dishes, and People’s Restaurant for global dining. Godiva Café serves Belgian chocolate creations and brewed coffees with live musical performances.
Murjana Waterpark, the first fully integrated hotel waterpark in Saudi Arabia, features 11 water attractions. These include Emerald Drop, Wave Pool Lagoon, and Murjana River Adventure pool, alongside splash zones and family dining at Seafarer’s Catch. Additionally, the resort hosts Rixy Kids Club and a Teens Club with daily activities and play areas.

Future Outlook
The resort provides fitness facilities, including Exclusive Sports Club, expert-led classes such as CrossFit, yoga, and TRX, as well as equipped gyms for men and women. The opening supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Tourism Strategy, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a global tourism destination.
