Etihad Salam Telecom Company and Water Transmission Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore collaboration in connectivity services across Saudi Arabia. The announcement took place during the LEAP 2026 technology conference in Riyadh, where Salam participated as a strategic sponsor.
Expanding Network Infrastructure Reach
The agreement establishes an operational framework for both entities to assess commercial opportunities in digital infrastructure. By combining their physical assets, both organizations aim to deliver scalable and high-capacity connectivity services to public and private sector clients across various regions.
Furthermore, the initiative supports national digital transformation programs outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, enhancing the reach of modern telecommunications networks throughout the Kingdom. Utilizing existing industrial corridors and utility pathways presents a sustainable method to accelerate fiber deployment and optimize network expansion.
Assessing Requirements for Connectivity Services
Under the terms of the memorandum, technical teams from both organizations will evaluate commercial feasibility across multiple parameters. Specifically, the scope includes analyzing infrastructure requirements, surveying prospective physical routes, reviewing interconnection options, and selecting appropriate delivery models.
In addition, the project allows the utility company to maximize the value of its extensive pipeline assets while helping Salam expand its corporate cybersecurity and networking footprint across diverse operational environments.
