Saudi Arabia launched a Saudi AI cloud training program in partnership with Amazon Web Services on May 4, 2026. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and AWS announced the initiative to develop skills among Saudi nationals in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing technologies.

The program will be delivered online at no cost to participants. It aims to train more than 20,000 Saudi professionals and prepare them for employment in the digital economy while promoting innovation and entrepreneurship across the Kingdom. The training initiative supports Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation goals outlined in Vision 2030, as cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies connect directly and indirectly to more than 66 Vision 2030 objectives.

Program Structure and Curriculum

The Saudi AI cloud training program consists of two distinct training paths delivered through the AWS Academy. Each path runs for two weeks and will be offered over a six-month period to accommodate participants’ work and academic schedules.

The first track targets more than 10,000 trainees and focuses on artificial intelligence fundamentals. It combines theoretical learning with practical application, covering AI and machine learning basics, generative AI concepts and sector-specific applications, model training and deployment fundamentals, responsible AI principles, and AWS services in this field. Participants also learn essential concepts to make informed decisions about appropriate solutions for business requirements.

The second track also targets more than 10,000 trainees and covers a two-week course on cloud computing fundamentals. Participants learn core cloud concepts, primary AWS services, security and compliance in cloud environments, pricing models and cost management, best practices for cloud infrastructure, and the business value of digital transformation. This path helps trainees build strong foundations in software engineering and develop professional skills in communication, problem-solving, and collaboration to support their careers.

International Credentials and Career Support

The program awards internationally recognized certifications from the AWS Academy upon completion. These credentials enhance participant competitiveness in the job market and provide cybersecurity and technical validation of skills acquired through the training.

This initiative builds on the AWS Builder Accelerator program, which the ministry launched previously in collaboration with the AWS Academy. That earlier program trained Saudi nationals in cloud computing and provided advanced skills in AWS technologies through intensive practical training conducted at the company’s Virginia headquarters. It was designed for graduates in technical fields, particularly computer science and information technology professionals with two to three years of experience.

Part of Broader AI Strategy

The training program represents a significant step in AWS’s commitment announced last year as part of a strategic partnership agreement with HUMAIN to establish a leading artificial intelligence hub in Saudi Arabia. That agreement targets training 100,000 Saudi citizens in cloud computing and generative AI, a commitment AWS made in collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology emphasizes that this collaboration aligns with its objectives to develop specialized Saudi talents in artificial intelligence and cloud computing. The partnership supports the Kingdom’s efforts to empower national digital talent through continuous learning investments and cooperation with global technology companies like AWS to exchange expertise, transfer knowledge, and build skills through training programs that drive technical innovation and contribute to building a prosperous digital future.
