Saudi Arabia AI ranking shows the Kingdom ranked first globally in artificial intelligence security, privacy, and cryptography, as well as women’s empowerment in AI, according to the 2026 AI Index Report by the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. The rankings reflect the Kingdom’s progress in developing its technical and research ecosystem.

The report highlights national efforts led by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) in building a competitive AI ecosystem. Saudi Arabia also ranked third globally in the percentage change in AI talent concentration and in the share of university students using generative AI in their studies.

The Kingdom achieved fourth place globally in AI talent attraction, reflecting growing market appeal and private-sector confidence. The report noted the role of national initiatives such as the One Million Saudis in AI (SAMAI) program in expanding participation and building skills across the workforce.

Fastest Global Growth in AI Talent

Saudi Arabia recorded the fastest global growth in AI talent share, exceeding 100% between 2019 and 2025. This expansion reflects the Kingdom’s ability to attract qualified professionals in a competitive global market. More than 80% of employees in the Kingdom use artificial intelligence regularly, compared to a global average of 58%.

Workplace AI Adoption Outpaces Global Average

The high adoption rate of AI in Saudi workplaces demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to integrating advanced technologies across sectors. This widespread usage reflects both employer investment in AI tools and employee readiness to adopt new technologies in daily operations.

Strategic Infrastructure Investment

The report highlighted a 5 billion dollar agreement between AWS and HUMAIN to develop advanced AI infrastructure in the Kingdom. This investment supports the acceleration of AI technology adoption across Saudi Arabia and globally, strengthening the nation’s position as a regional technology hub.

Alignment with Vision 2030 Objectives

These indicators reinforce Saudi Arabia’s growing global position in AI, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The Kingdom’s progress in developing technical capabilities, attracting talent, and expanding investments demonstrates its commitment to building a knowledge-based economy. The 2026 AI Index Report confirms that Saudi Arabia has established itself as a significant player in the global artificial intelligence landscape.
