Major investments in Saudi data centers and advanced technologies exceeded $2.5 billion on the second day of the LEAP 2026 conference in Riyadh. The financial commitments cover cloud services, local technical manufacturing, and artificial intelligence research, according to reporting by عاجل.
Expansion Projects for Saudi Data Centers
Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS) led the day’s announcements by committing $1.2 billion to expand local facility operations. This capital deployment aims to increase total operational capacity to 192 megawatts, directly meeting growing domestic requirements for computing power and machine intelligence.
In addition, NHC Innovation revealed an $880 million project to construct specialized digital facilities within the Khuzam Digital Valley. The planned site targets an operational load of 65 megawatts by 2033, creating scalable digital capacity in the capital.
Cloud Computing and International Infrastructure
Telecommunications provider Mobily formed a joint partnership with BytePlus involving an investment exceeding $150 million. The agreement establishes BytePlus cloud services inside the Kingdom, broadening access to enterprise software tools for local businesses.
Meanwhile, Saudi investment firm Vision Invest joined the Africa Finance Corporation to direct $300 million into digital infrastructure operator WIOCC. This cross-border initiative supports digital connectivity across African regional markets while expanding Saudi financial participation in global technical assets.
Local Research and Enterprise Development
Global hardware vendor HPE announced the expansion of its participation in the Made in Saudi initiative. The company plans to move beyond server assembly to localize integrated digital systems, while establishing the Saudi Innovation Center alongside Intel to support local startups working on artificial intelligence projects.
Furthermore, Nokia confirmed the opening of its first research and development facility in the Kingdom. The center will focus on developing AI-powered network automation and next-generation communications systems directly within the local market.
Growing Regional Technology Capacity
The scale of funding announced during the event highlights how Saudi data centers serve as foundational infrastructure for national computing goals. These commercial agreements directly support the expansion of the kingdom’s broader digital economy.
The LEAP 2026 conference runs through September 3 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, bringing together global technology enterprises, investors, and founders to discuss computing architecture and digital modernization.
