The Ministry of Education has announced major Saudi education updates for the upcoming academic year, including curriculum changes and technological integration.
Minister Yousef Al-Benyan detailed these preparations.
According to a report by Ajel, the ministry aims to create a highly efficient learning environment for students and teachers.
Curriculum Changes and Saudi Education Updates
The ministry has updated 22 school subjects to align with modern academic standards.
In addition, officials confirmed that 36 million copies of textbooks were delivered to schools before the summer break.
This early distribution ensures readiness.
Digital resources are also expanding to support classroom learning.
The Madrasati platform now hosts more than 500 digital books, which provides teachers and students with diverse learning materials.
These resources support the digital transition.
Integration of Artificial Intelligence
A major component of the new curriculum is the integration of 50 educational units focused on artificial intelligence.
The ministry is collaborating with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and Humane to implement these technologies.
This initiative deploys modern tools.
By utilizing these advanced systems, the ministry hopes to reduce administrative and operational burdens on teaching staff.
Consequently, teachers can focus on instruction.
This technological shift supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Teacher Training and Student Support
To support these Saudi education updates, the ministry is focusing heavily on professional development.
Specifically, the ministry is working to develop more than 240,000 teachers to improve their instructional capabilities.
Furthermore, teachers will only instruct subjects within their specific academic specializations.
In addition to general training, the ministry has trained 4,000 teachers to identify gifted students.
More than 495,000 students have already participated in qualifying competitions.
The ministry is also establishing specialized schools to nurture these talents.
Private Sector Participation and Infrastructure
The ministry is also enhancing infrastructure through partnerships with the private sector.
Through these collaborations, the ministry secured 200 school buildings, which added 160,000 new seats in private education.
Additionally, the ministry is working on models to increase kindergarten enrollment at workplaces.
For international academic opportunities, the minister revealed that 70% of Saudi scholarship students are studying at the top 50 universities globally.
The Kingdom has also attracted three international universities to open campuses locally.
