TEDx Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University launched its annual conference in Riyadh on February 17, 2026, under the patronage of Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan. The event took place at the university’s conference building, bringing together students, academics, and institutional partners.
University President Addresses the Conference
University President Dr. Ahmed Al-Ameri delivered opening remarks at the event. He described the conference as a knowledge platform that reflects the nation’s commitment to investing in youth as the cornerstone of development.

Dr. Al-Ameri also expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince for their continued support of the education sector and youth. He further acknowledged the efforts of the TEDx organization, event partners, and working committees.
TEDx Imam Mohammad Conference Sessions and Theme
The conference opened under the theme “From A to Z.” Scientific sessions began with a session titled “The Role of Education in Promoting Mental Health.” University Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdullah Al-Asmari participated in that session, highlighting the relationship between the educational environment and student mental health.
Cultural Exhibition and Institutional Partners
A cultural exhibition ran alongside the conference, featuring student-led initiatives linked to the event’s themes. The exhibition aimed to enrich the attendee experience and foster intellectual interaction among participants. A separate exhibition for supporting organizations and initiatives also took place, with the goal of expanding professional networks and building partnerships.
More than 70 members of organizational and volunteer staff participated in running the event. In addition, 16 institutional partners provided support, reflecting a broad collaborative effort to deliver the conference.
Alignment with National Development Goals
The university organized the event as part of its broader support for intellectual and knowledge-based activity. Officials said the conference aligns with national development targets and reinforces the university’s role as an academic and cultural center. The event connects academic expertise with practical experience, supporting the goals of higher education in Saudi Arabia.
