The Saudi Esports Federation signed two Memoranda of Understanding with ROC Esports and Team Stallions on February 19, 2026, in Riyadh, aiming to develop the esports ecosystem and strengthen national talent pathways in the Kingdom.

The agreements form part of the federation’s broader efforts to build a structured esports ecosystem. Moreover, they align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Esports and Gaming Strategy.

Partnership Scope and Collaboration Areas

The Saudi Esports Federation structured the MoUs around developing skills for employees and athletes through programs delivered by the Saudi Esports Academy. Specifically, the agreements cover specialized training programs and joint initiatives designed to prepare qualified national talent.

In addition, the partnerships explore career pathways for academy graduates. The collaboration also includes knowledge exchange and the delivery of educational, technical, and vocational programs.

Quote from Federation Leadership

“We are pleased to partner with ROC Esports and Team Stallions, two clubs that contribute to the sustainable development of the Kingdom’s esports ecosystem and the advancement of national talent. Through these collaborations, we will continue to deliver structured programs and strategic initiatives that strengthen the sector’s foundations and further position Saudi Arabia as a leading global hub for esports, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030.”

Rawan Al Butairi, CEO, Saudi Esports Federation

Role of the Saudi Esports Academy

The Saudi Esports Academy serves as the primary delivery mechanism for training under both agreements. Programs target athletes and sector professionals at multiple levels, from community participants to competitive professionals.

Furthermore, the academy’s graduate pathways component aims to connect trained talent directly with career opportunities within the esports industry. This approach supports long-term workforce development across the sector.

Context: Saudi Esports Federation Background

The Saudi Esports Federation was established in late 2017 as the regulatory body overseeing the gaming and esports sector in Saudi Arabia. Since then, it has organized multiple national and international tournaments and attracted private sector investment.

The federation operates across two complementary streams. The first develops competitive gamers from grassroots to professional level. The second focuses on developing the broader esports value chain by enabling talent and catalyzing industry growth.

Outlook for the Esports Sector

These two MoUs reflect the federation’s strategy of expanding cooperation with local and international stakeholders. Consequently, the partnerships are expected to contribute to the sector’s economic and social impact over the long term.

The Saudi Esports Federation said it will continue pursuing structured agreements that support talent development and reinforce Saudi Arabia’s position in the global esports landscape. More information is available at saudiesports.sa.
