SDAIA training programs have reached a total of 1,563,983 citizens in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) announced these figures on June 15, 2026. This initiative aligns with the goals of the Human Capability Development Program under Saudi Vision 2030.
Specifically, the training initiatives included 14,495 specialists and experts in data and artificial intelligence. In addition, the authority trained more than 278 government leaders to support digital transformation. These efforts aim to build national capabilities in advanced technologies.
SDAIA training programs Reach Over 1.5 Million Beneficiaries
Meanwhile, the authority launched the second phase of the SAMAI initiative. This phase involves partnerships with 11 ministries to train the government workforce. Consequently, public sector employees will learn to use these technologies practically and responsibly.
Notably, the initiative collaborated with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. This collaboration resulted in the launch of 40 academic programs across 14 public and private universities. Furthermore, the program introduced a national curriculum for university students.
Expansion of the SAMAI Initiative
To support professional development, the authority launched the “Athka X” platform. This platform offers specialized career paths in collaboration with global technology companies. Specifically, these partners include Microsoft, IBM, AWS, Oracle, and NVIDIA. In addition, the platform features a national skills registry to prepare local talent for the labor market.
Strategic Partnerships and Academic Integration
Furthermore, the International Conference on Capacity Building in Data and AI (ICAN 2026) served as a major milestone. The event attracted more than 30,000 participants and visitors at King Saud University. During the conference, officials signed 27 agreements and launched seven initiatives. Meanwhile, the authority introduced the second edition of the national academic and professional standards frameworks.
As a result of these SDAIA training programs, Saudi Arabia achieved significant global rankings. The Kingdom ranked first globally in women’s empowerment in AI for 2026. Additionally, it secured the second position globally in societal awareness of AI according to the Stanford University Index.
Future Outlook for National Capabilities
Looking ahead, the authority plans to expand its SDAIA training programs to cover more sectors. This expansion will help bridge the skills gap in the local technology market. Ultimately, these initiatives support the transition toward a knowledge-based economy.
