The Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION was launched in Saudi Arabia on May 20, 2026, adding a premium wireless noise-canceling headphone to its 1000X series. The new model focuses on refined design, comfort, and sound quality. It marks the 10th anniversary of the 1000X line, which started with the MDR-1000X in 2016.

Design and Materials

The headphones feature a metal headband with a matte sandblasted texture and hand-polished gloss. Soft faux leather, developed over two years, covers the ear cups. Integrated metal buttons and microphone openings keep the design clean. The model comes in Platinum or Black.

Ergonomic earcups and a cushioned headband distribute weight for extended listening comfort. The company stated that the leather adapts to the user’s head shape for stable isolation.

Sound Quality and Technology

The Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION uses a bespoke driver unit with a carbon composite dome for clear separation and wide soundstage. Sony collaborated with GRAMMY-winning engineers to tune the headphones. It is the first model to include DSEE Ultimate, which uses Edge-AI to upscale compressed audio in real time.

360 Reality Audio Upmix expands to three modes: Music, Cinema, and Game. Users can switch modes using the Listening Mode button. The headphones retain familiar 1000X series features like call quality and 24-hour battery life.

Noise Cancelling Performance

Noise cancelling uses Multi-Noise Sensor technology with 12 microphones and the Adaptive NC Optimizer, the same system found in the WH-1000XM6. This delivers adaptive noise cancelling for different environments.

Sustainability and Accessibility

Approximately 25% of the plastic used in the product is recycled material, and the packaging is plastic-free. The 1000X THE COLLEXION includes an inclusive design: a bag-like case with magnetic closure, clear L/R markings, tactile buttons, and QR guides for easy access.

WH-1000XM6 Sandstone Color

Sony also added a Sandstone color to the WH-1000XM6 range. It becomes the fifth color option for these noise-canceling headphones, priced at SAR 1,699.
