Sony Honda Mobility unveiled the AFEELA Prototype 2026 at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, marking the next evolution of their “Mobility as a Creative Entertainment Space” vision. The company announced that AFEELA 1 deliveries will begin in California within 2026, while a production model based on the new prototype is planned for US market launch as early as 2028.
AFEELA 1 Production and Delivery Timeline
Sony Honda Mobility has completed trial production runs of AFEELA 1 at Honda’s East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio during fall 2025. The company welcomed over 100,000 visitors to AFEELA Studio showrooms and conducted more than 24,000 in-vehicle demonstrations within the first year of reservations, which began in January 2025.
This spring, SHM will open “AFEELA Studio and Delivery Hubs” in Torrance and Fremont, California, combining showroom and delivery functions. Sales expansion to Arizona is planned for 2027, with Japanese deliveries scheduled for the first half of 2027.
Advanced AI Integration and Technology Partnerships
The AFEELA Prototype 2026 incorporates enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities through the AFEELA Intelligent Drive system, which integrates Vision-Language Model (VLM) technology. The company aims to evolve from Level 2+ driver assistance to Level 4-equivalent capabilities, creating a “drive-less” entertainment environment.
- AFEELA Personal Agent powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service for personalized dialogue
- Integration of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis in next-generation architecture
- AFEELA Co-Creation Program providing developers access to in-vehicle entertainment APIs
- New on-chain mobility service platform with token-based incentive model
Vehicles will evolve from driver-centric machines into intelligent partners that understand user preferences and emotions, maximizing the value of space and time during mobility.
