The newly announced TCS Anthropic partnership aims to help global customers scale their artificial intelligence capabilities across various business sectors.

Through this collaboration, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will establish a dedicated business unit to deliver customer value propositions. This unit will focus on developing joint industry solutions and deep expertise on the Claude family of models.

Details of the TCS Anthropic partnership

Specifically, the TCS Anthropic partnership will focus on highly regulated industries where AI initiatives often stall at the pilot stage. These sectors require stringent accuracy, auditability, and oversight due to the high consequences of errors.

Furthermore, the alliance will provide enterprises with early access to the Claude models. This access allows businesses to deploy these systems in production environments rather than just experimental stages.

Internal Deployment and Workforce Training

TCS will equip 50,000 of its associates across engineering, finance, legal, marketing, and sales with Claude licenses. By deploying the technology internally, the company aims to gain direct experience to improve its own operations.

In addition, the TCS iON platform, which conducts over 75 million annual assessments in India, will deliver learning and certification on Claude models. This initiative will help build a certified workforce.

Industry Specific Applications and Solutions

The collaboration will target sectors such as financial services, public services, life sciences, healthcare, aviation, telecom, and medtech. Together, the companies will co-innovate solutions for domain-specific workflows and customer experience transformation.

Notably, Diligenta, the UK life and pensions business of TCS, will use Claude to improve customer experience. Meanwhile, the banking and financial services teams will use Claude Code to increase software engineering productivity.

TCS will also bring its engineering expertise to the Claude Code ecosystem. Specifically, the company will develop reusable skills and plugins for tasks such as claims adjudication and lending advisory.

Executive Perspectives on the Collaboration

“Enterprise AI value comes from understanding business context, orchestrating complex systems, and applying deep AI engineering talent.”

K Krithivasan, CEO and MD of TCS

Meanwhile, Dario Amodei, Co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, stated that the partnership deepens their commitment to India, which is their second-largest market. He added that TCS will bring Claude to enterprises and professionals globally.

N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, stated that AI will be foundational and transformative for enterprises worldwide. He added that the collaboration will equip India’s youth with the skills to lead in this sector.

Consequently, the TCS Anthropic partnership represents a significant step in accelerating enterprise reinvention and supporting the digital economy globally.
