Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has announced new configurations of the Vertiv MegaMod HDX liquid cooling solution, designed to meet the demanding requirements of high-density computing environments. The prefabricated power and liquid cooling infrastructure solution is engineered specifically for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) deployments, offering scalable capacity up to 10 MW and supporting rack densities from 50 kW to more than 100 kW per rack.
Hybrid Cooling Architecture for AI Infrastructure
The Vertiv MegaMod HDX integrates direct-to-chip liquid cooling with air-cooled architectures to address the intense thermal demands of AI workloads. This hybrid approach supports pod-style AI environments and advanced GPU clusters, making it ideal for organizations scaling their AI infrastructure. The solution is available in two configurations: a compact model with standard module height supporting up to 13 racks and 1.25 MW power capacity, and a combo solution with extended-height design accommodating up to 144 racks with power capacities reaching 10 MW.
Both configurations leverage prefabricated modular designs that enable accelerated deployment timelines while allowing customers to scale their data centers as demand grows. The factory-integrated design ensures repeatable precision in deployment and provides cost certainty for planning and scaling AI infrastructure investments.

The MegaMod HDX models feature distributed redundant power architecture that enables continuous operation even if one module goes offline. Additionally, the buffer-tank thermal backup system allows GPU clusters to maintain stable operations during maintenance or load transitions, ensuring uninterrupted performance for critical AI applications.
