The Yanbu Cement transformation has officially commenced following a partnership between Yanbu Cement Company (YCC) and Mastek to modernize its production and dispatch operations.
Under this agreement, Mastek will update the systems of YCC, which manages over 10 million tonnes of cement dispatch and 220,000 truck movements annually. The project aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 and Industry 4.0 initiatives to reduce manual dependencies in the economy. Specifically, the integration connects Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP with IoT-enabled weighbridges and automated gate systems.
Furthermore, the system incorporates GPS-driven transit tracking and a unified dashboard to provide real-time visibility from order creation to delivery. A customer-facing digital portal has also been introduced to allow direct order placement and live shipment tracking. Consequently, these updates aim to reduce congestion at loading bays and optimize resource utilization.
“Our collaboration with Mastek has been instrumental in modernizing our production to dispatch operations. The transformation has enhanced operational efficiency and reduced costs, leading to quick turnaround and accelerated deliveries.”
Ali AL Ayed, Board Member & CEO, Yanbu Cement Company
The Impact of the Yanbu Cement transformation
The Yanbu Cement transformation has already delivered measurable operational improvements for the manufacturer. Notably, truck turnaround times improved twofold, and resource depreciation decreased across the company’s logistics assets. In addition, the automation of loading bays and security gates has reduced manual intervention and improved regulatory compliance.
The company also reported an increase in topline revenue, which was driven by improved customer acquisition and order handling efficiency. Meanwhile, faster turnaround times have lowered energy consumption and emissions at the plant. This digital foundation establishes a platform for future predictive insights and data-driven decision-making.
Integration of Enterprise Systems
The technical deployment converged information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) under Mastek’s Connected Enterprise Services framework. By linking the ERP system with physical infrastructure, the company achieved end-to-end transparency. As a result, YCC transitioned from manual oversight to real-time tracking of production and logistics.
“This partnership with Yanbu Cement Company demonstrates Mastek’s deep expertise in intelligent automation and Industrial IoT deliver tangible business outcomes in large scale manufacturing environments.”
