The Predator Atlas 7 gaming handheld has been officially announced by Acer alongside an experimental convertible prototype during the next@acer global press conference in Berlin. Built with a 7-inch display, the new model extends the company’s portable hardware series into a smaller form factor compared to its previous 8-inch iteration. The announcement reflects continuous expansion across mobile PC gaming platforms.
Predator Atlas 7 Hardware Specifications and Processor Architecture
The Predator Atlas 7 runs on Windows 11 Home and incorporates up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor alongside Intel Arc B390 graphics. Storage configurations offer up to 1 TB through a PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD slot, supported by up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x memory operating at 7467 MT/s. The device also includes two months of XBOX Game Pass access right out of the box.
Furthermore, visual output relies on a 7-inch FHD IPS-level touchscreen running at a 120 Hz refresh rate with 500 nits of peak brightness and Variable Refresh Rate support. The panel features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC anti-glare coating to protect the surface during daily use. Consequently, graphics stability pairs with responsive multi-touch input across all compatible titles.
Thermal Design and Control Configuration
To maintain thermal regulation under load, the device uses a dual-fan cooling layout with Vortex Flow tuning. The setup pairs a plastic fan with an 89-blade Predator AeroBlade metal fan measuring 0.1 mm in blade thickness to increase airflow by up to 10 percent. Power delivery relies on an integrated battery capacity of up to 80 Wh, bringing the total weight to under 750 grams.
Physical controls feature Hall-effect analog triggers, contoured grips, and optional tunneling magnetoresistance joysticks to prevent stick drift. Security includes a fingerprint sensor integrated directly into the power button for Windows Hello authentication. Meanwhile, connection ports include dual Thunderbolt 4 inputs, a UHS-II microSD card slot, Killer Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Concept Exploration With Project DualPlay Mini
Alongside the primary launch, Acer presented the Project DualPlay Mini concept device featuring an 8-inch screen. Designed with a flip-and-swivel hinge, the prototype transforms between a standard handheld and a miniature laptop equipped with a physical backlit keyboard. The back cover incorporates Morse code marking Acer’s 50th anniversary since 1976.
According to the company, the device functions as both a dedicated handheld system and a portable productivity workstation capable of connecting to external displays. The conceptual unit uses Intel processing architecture and adopts a dual-fan thermal setup similar to the Atlas series.
Regional Availability and Market Schedule
The Predator Atlas 7 will become available across the EMEA region starting in November 2026. In addition, the larger Predator Atlas 8 arrives in EMEA markets in September 2026 following its initial Computex appearance. Acer stated that Project DualPlay Mini remains a technology concept without a commercial release schedule.
