Ankabut Dell Technologies have formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance computing capabilities across the UAE’s education sector. The agreement was signed on February 17, 2026, in Abu Dhabi, marking a collaboration between the UAE’s national research and education network and the global technology company.

Walid Yehia, Managing Director – South Gulf, Dell Technologies, and Tarek Jundi, CEO, Ankabut, signed the agreement. The MoU outlines a shared framework to expand digital infrastructure for universities, research institutions, and academic communities across the UAE.

Ankabut Dell Technologies: Scope of the Agreement

Under the MoU, Ankabut will deliver Dell’s GPU-as-a-service capabilities to academic institutions. These resources will support data-intensive research and advanced education applications requiring accelerated computing power. Dell will also supply high-performance computing systems, client devices, and workstations to support Ankabut’s infrastructure.

Ankabut operates a data centre at Khalifa University, through which it provides networking, virtualization, cloud services, application services, cybersecurity, and managed support services. The partnership aims to extend these capabilities to a broader range of institutions across the country.

GPU-as-a-Service for Academic Research

The MoU enables Ankabut to expand its role as a cloud solutions provider. Institutions will gain access to GPU resources and high-performance computing that support research and improve teaching outcomes. The agreement also positions Ankabut to offer more flexible and scalable services to the UAE’s education ecosystem.

Yehia said: “The UAE continues to set benchmarks for innovation in education through its commitment to technology-driven learning. Our collaboration with Ankabut aligns perfectly with this national vision, combining Dell’s advanced infrastructure solutions with Ankabut’s leadership in education networks to create a future-ready digital ecosystem for students, researchers and educators across the country.”

“This collaboration marks a pivotal step in advancing digital learning in the UAE. By integrating Dell Technologies’ advanced computing solutions with Ankabut’s cloud and connectivity expertise, we are empowering institutions to reimagine how education is delivered and experienced. Together, we’re enabling a smarter, more connected academic community that supports the UAE’s ambitions for a knowledge-based economy.”

Ankabut’s Role in UAE Digital Infrastructure

Ankabut serves as the UAE’s national research and education network, providing computing and connectivity infrastructure to schools, universities, and research institutions. The organization focuses on enabling digital access and supporting the country’s broader academic community through managed technology services.

The partnership with Dell Technologies extends Ankabut’s capacity to deliver scalable cybersecurity and cloud-based solutions. This supports institutions seeking to modernize their digital environments without building independent infrastructure.

Alignment with UAE National Education Goals

The MoU reflects the UAE’s broader policy direction toward technology-driven education. National universities stand to benefit from accelerated computing resources that support both research output and student learning experiences. Moreover, the agreement positions the UAE’s academic sector to compete at an international level in research and digital learning.

As demand for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing grows across academic institutions globally, the Ankabut-Dell partnership provides a structured pathway for UAE universities to access these resources through a trusted national network provider.
