Cequence Security has announced the general availability of Cequence Platform 9.0 to update how organizations manage API security. This release introduces an artificial intelligence assistant alongside an open Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Consequently, teams can now query and investigate security data directly through automated workflows.
The update also includes a risk rules library mapped to 25 global regulatory frameworks. Meanwhile, the underlying engine has been rebuilt to handle large enterprise API estates. This architecture allows users to interact with security tools directly without navigating complex menus or interfaces.
AI-Native Architecture in Cequence Platform 9.0
The built-in AI Assistant in Cequence Platform 9.0 answers plain-language questions using live platform data. Specifically, it can classify APIs, identify risks, and draft rules based on evidence-backed findings. However, every proposed write action requires explicit human approval before execution.
Furthermore, the open MCP server allows external automation platforms to interact with the system. This setup removes the need for custom integrations. As a result, security teams can incorporate API data into their existing workflows.
Compliance and Risk Rules Library
To assist with regulatory audits, the platform ships with more than 250 pre-built risk rules. Notably, these rules map to frameworks such as PCI DSS, GDPR, SOC 2, and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) framework. Organizations can generate one-click reports that score risks by control area.
In addition, a new observe mode lets teams test proposed rules without raising formal issues. This feature prevents a flood of unreviewed findings during initial testing. A test panel also validates rules against sample request data before activation.
Re-Architected API Security Engine
The rebuilt engine supports a 50x increase in API endpoints. Consequently, page load times remain under five seconds across all views. This performance improvement is paired with a reduced CPU footprint, which lowers infrastructure costs for on-premises deployments.
