Cequence Security has been appointed co-chair of TM Forum’s Agentic Interaction Security Blueprint, a role the company will use to help define standards and guardrails for secure agentic AI deployments across the global telecommunications sector. TM Forum made the appointment public during an executive networking reception held alongside Mobile World Congress on March 11, 2026.
What the Agentic Interaction Security Initiative Covers
The initiative forms part of TM Forum’s broader AI-Native Blueprints program. It brings together telecommunications operators, technology vendors, and standards bodies to address the challenge of deploying artificial intelligence agents that can operate autonomously while remaining secure and interoperable by design. The program targets internal productivity systems, customer service platforms, and autonomous network operations.
Industry Context: A Growing Security Gap
A February 2026 Cyber Pulse Report from Microsoft found that more than 80 percent of Fortune 500 companies deploy active AI agents. However, only 47 percent of those companies have AI-specific safeguards in place. This gap has intensified pressure on the telecommunications sector to establish robust, industry-aligned security frameworks before agentic AI adoption accelerates further.
Cequence’s Specific Responsibilities as Co-Chair
As co-chair, Cequence will contribute operational threat intelligence and focus on four areas. These include maintaining integrity standards for agentic connections — including MCP protocols — implementing real-time governance blueprints, defining operational resilience patterns, and coordinating between security practitioners, communication service providers (CSPs), and standards bodies.
