The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) released its Q1 2026 CST Game Mode report, showing a 54% improvement in overall online gaming performance compared to Q1 2025. This quarterly publication evaluates the performance quality of telecom service providers in Saudi Arabia across leading online games.
Performance Metrics Across Platforms
The report analyzed download speed performance across major gaming platforms in the Kingdom. Specifically, Mobily achieved a 100% download speed rating on the STEAM platform. Meanwhile, Mobily, STC, and Salam led the PlayStation platform with a rating of 98%. In addition, Mobily maintained the top position on the XBOX platform, also securing a 98% rating.
CST Game Mode Report Findings
According to the CST Game Mode report, STC and Mobily led the rankings for the best response time in eight popular games. These games include Call of Duty, Battlefield, Fortnite, EA Sports FC, Counter Strike, Rocket League, Dota2, and Valorant. Furthermore, Mobily ranked first individually in seven games, including eFootball, PUBG, Marvel Rivals, Starcraft 2, Free Fire, Overwatch, and Call of Duty Mobile.
Meanwhile, STC secured the top spot in three games, specifically League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Mobile Legends. In addition, STC and Salam led in Rainbow Six Siege, while Zain and Salam shared the top position in Honor of Kings. Notably, Zain ranked first in PUBG Mobile, demonstrating varied performance across different telecommunications networks. These results highlight the competitive dynamics among local operators in the growing economy of esports.
Guidelines for Improving Internet Quality
To support the gaming community, the report shared practical guidelines to help users improve their internet quality. These tips include properly configuring home networks and ensuring the efficiency of connected devices.
