An Epson study Saudi Arabia survey of 375 teachers and parents found that 83% consider digital platforms integral to classrooms, while a strong majority also value printed materials for deeper learning outcomes. The research, released on March 11, 2026, highlights demand for a blended approach combining digital tools with print in Saudi schools.
Key Survey Findings on Digital Tools
The survey found that 74% of respondents consider projectors essential classroom technology. Moreover, 73% said projector use enriches the learning process, while 70% indicated projectors make content more memorable. In addition, 58% confirmed projectors boost student engagement, and 57% cited the ability to spark creativity as a key benefit.
Epson Study Saudi Arabia: The Continued Role of Print
Despite strong support for digital tools, 76% of respondents said printers are essential for effective teaching and learning. Furthermore, 64% agreed that printed materials provide a more reliable and focused learning experience. Notably, 59% said printed materials encourage deeper reading and comprehension, reinforcing the case for a blended approach.
Screen fatigue also emerged as a significant concern. Specifically, 72% of respondents said students experience screen fatigue from laptops and tablets at least some of the time. As a result, 60% said printed materials are easier on the eyes, and 62% noted that print supports better information retention. Additionally, 57% highlighted print’s value for notetaking and annotation.
AI Integration and Sustainability Priorities
Interest in artificial intelligence was notably high among Saudi respondents. Some 55% of teachers and parents expressed support for AI integration in teaching and learning. This figure made Saudi Arabia the highest-ranking country for parent and teacher AI support among the seven countries covered in the report, compared to a mean average of 47%.
Sustainability also ranked as a priority. Almost all respondents — 92% — stated that eco-friendly features are a crucial consideration when selecting technology for educational environments. This consensus reflects broader alignment with national sustainability goals.
Recommended Changes to Teaching Methods
Respondents identified several priority areas for improving education effectiveness. Some 59% called for more engaging teaching methods, 53% cited the need for increased access to the latest technologies, and 52% recommended improved teacher training and professional development. These findings suggest that investment in both technology access and educator skills remains a key concern.
