HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5, the company’s new flagship wireless earbuds, made their global debut at the HUAWEI Innovative Product Launch event in Madrid on March 12, 2026. Huawei said the earbuds are the world’s first to feature a dual-driver ANC architecture, delivering lossless audio and a significant improvement in noise cancellation performance.

HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5 Design and Build

The earbuds introduce an all-new Star Oval design, featuring a diamond-cut surface technique and the HUAWEI SOUND logo. Four colorways are available: Sand, White, Grey, and Blue. The Sand, White, and Grey variants use an excimer film layer process that creates a micro-texture finish, while the Blue model uses eco-friendly vegan leather applied via a 3D ultra-deep curved surface process.

The charging case is 5.5% smaller than its predecessor and features a concealed spherical hinge. Huawei said the Ergonomic Secure Fit design reconstructs the earbud shape to better match the ear’s contours, accommodating different ear shapes for a secure and lightweight fit.

Lossless Audio and Sound Profiles

The smart devices integrate a Dual-Drive Acoustic System paired with L2HC 4.0 audio codec technology. This combination supports high-resolution lossless audio at up to 2.3Mbps and enables 48kHz/24bit lossless transmission. The dual-driver design separates high and low frequencies to deliver layered sound reproduction.

Furthermore, the earbuds offer four distinct sound profiles: HUAWEI SOUND Balanced, HUAWEI SOUND Voice, HUAWEI SOUND Classical, and HUAWEI SOUND Bass. These profiles allow users to adapt the audio output to different listening scenarios and personal preferences.

Dual-Driver ANC and AI Noise Cancellation

The HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5 uses two independent drivers for noise cancellation: the Ultra-Linear Dual-Magnet Driver handles persistent low-frequency rumbles, while the Ultra-Thin Micro Planar Diaphragm Driver addresses sudden high-frequency sounds. Huawei said the system integrates a MIMO AI Sensing model that processes noise data up to 400,000 times per second.

As a result, the earbuds coordinate both drivers in real time to emit precise anti-noise waves. Huawei stated that noise cancellation performance improved by 220% compared to the previous generation. This positions the FreeBuds Pro 5 as a notable step forward in mobile devices audio technology.

Awareness Mode, Adaptive Volume, and Connectivity

The Awareness Mode feature uses microphones and artificial intelligence processing to blend ambient sounds into the audio stream naturally, allowing users to remain aware of their surroundings without removing the earbuds. The Adaptive Volume feature automatically adjusts media volume in response to changing environmental noise levels, from quiet to loud environments.

Moreover, the earbuds support Dual-Device Connection, enabling simultaneous pairing with a phone and a laptop. The device intelligently switches audio sources based on activity. An Audio Sharing feature also allows users to wirelessly share audio with a second compatible pair of Huawei earbuds.

The HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5 carries an IP57 dust and water resistance rating. The HUAWEI Audio Connect app, available on iOS and Android, provides additional customization options. The earbuds are now available in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at a retail price of 749 SAR.
