A recent report published by Cloudflare reveals that internet bot traffic has officially surpassed human activity on the web for the first time in history.
According to the data released in the report, automated programs accounted for approximately 57.4% of all web visits recorded over the past week. Meanwhile, human users accounted for only 42.5% of the total recorded traffic. Consequently, this shift marks a highly significant milestone in the ongoing evolution of online interactions, presenting new challenges for website administrators and developers of digital apps alike.

However, Cloudflare clarified that its tracking system only measures initial page visits rather than subsequent user behavior. Bots typically load far more pages at a rapid pace to index content. On the other hand, human visitors spend more time reading articles and watching videos instead of bouncing immediately. Therefore, the high volume of internet bot traffic does not necessarily reflect the actual depth of human engagement on the internet.
