The iPhone Duo officially marks Apple’s entry into the foldable hardware market, introducing a dual-screen device built with titanium and custom display technology. According to 9to5Mac, the handset features a 7.6-inch flexible inner panel alongside a 5.4-inch external display.
Pre-orders for the phone begin on October 16, with retail availability scheduled for October 23. Pricing for the base 256GB storage configuration starts at $1,999.

The internal 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display uses a specialized nano-texture matte finish designed to limit screen glare and reduce the visibility of the center crease. Additionally, Apple incorporated an under-display FaceTime camera to preserve screen space on the main panel.
Constructed from grade 5 titanium, the chassis carries an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The device comes in Star White and Night Sky color options. Furthermore, biometric authentication relies on Touch ID integrated directly into the side button, supporting multiple enrolled fingerprints.
Performance and Processing Architecture
Under the hood, the device runs on Apple’s A20 Pro processor, which includes a dedicated display engine to manage both screens at the same time. The handset also integrates Apple’s C2 cellular modem for network connectivity, expanding modern telecommunications performance on mobile hardware.
Power efficiency testing indicates up to 31 hours of video playback when using the inner screen, whereas using the outer display delivers up to 44 hours. Apple also confirmed that Apple Pencil support will arrive later this year.

The rear camera array consists of a 48MP Fusion main sensor with 2x optical zoom and a 48MP Fusion ultra-wide camera. The system supports video recording at 4K resolution up to 120 frames per second. For video calls, the outer cover features a 12MP Center Stage camera.
Software features include a redesigned Standby mode and advanced Split View multitasking within iOS, allowing users to run side-by-side applications or pin media across different orientations. These software adaptations reflect broader developments across consumer mobile devices.

Apple will sell the base 256GB model for $1,999 starting in late October. First-party accessories include a dedicated Folio case featuring a built-in kickstand designed to protect both halves of the folding mechanism.
