Marc Zora Philips has named as Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East, Türkiye and Africa (META) region, effective April 1, 2026, the company said on April 13, 2026. The appointment places a 15-year company veteran at the helm of one of Philips’ key growth markets.
Zora joined Royal Philips in 2011 as an International Key Account Manager. Over the following 15 years, he held a series of senior roles, including the company’s first General Manager for Qatar, District Leader for the Gulf and Levant, and most recently Business Leader for Image Guided Therapy across the META region.

His career path within Philips reflects a steady progression through markets central to the company’s health technology operations in the region. The Gulf and Levant posting, in particular, gave him direct exposure to the healthcare priorities of Saudi Arabia and neighboring markets.

Royal Philips has maintained a presence in the Middle East for more than 90 years. The company works with governments, health systems, and care providers across the full healthcare continuum, from diagnostics to monitoring and home care.
Philips reported 2025 sales of EUR 18 billion globally and employs approximately 64,800 people, with operations in more than 100 countries. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker PHG and on the Amsterdam exchange under PHIA.
Healthcare Transformation Across META
The META region has seen significant investment in health technology infrastructure in recent years, driven in part by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda, which targets a major expansion of the Kingdom’s healthcare capacity. Philips has been an active supplier to several large-scale hospital and diagnostic imaging projects in the region.
The company’s product portfolio in the region spans diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, image-guided therapy, patient monitoring, and enterprise informatics. These areas align closely with the priorities of health ministries across the Gulf, which are working to reduce dependence on overseas medical referrals and build local clinical capacity.
Leadership Transition and Outlook
Philips did not name Zora’s predecessor in the META CEO role or provide details on the transition timeline beyond the April 1 effective date. The company said it remains focused on strengthening strategic partnerships and delivering solutions tailored to local healthcare priorities across the region.
With governments across the META region increasing spending on digital health and hospital infrastructure, Philips’ new regional leadership will face both growing demand and intensifying competition from global medical technology firms. Zora’s background in image-guided therapy and key account management positions him to address both the clinical and commercial dimensions of that challenge.
