Lenovo regional headquarters for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) officially opened in Riyadh on April 12, 2026, marking a significant step in the company’s long-term investment strategy in Saudi Arabia. The opening ceremony was attended by Saudi Minister of Investment Fahd bin Abduljalil Al-Seif, senior government officials, strategic partners, and Lenovo executives.

Minister Al-Seif said the decision reflects the strength of Saudi Arabia’s partnership with major global technology companies. “Lenovo’s continued investments in advanced manufacturing, supply chain localization, talent development, and expanding regional operations reflect firm confidence in the Kingdom as a long-term strategic base for innovation and growth,” he stated, adding that these efforts contribute directly to Vision 2030 goals of building a competitive, diversified, and export-oriented economy.

Manufacturing Facility Visit and Graduate Engineers

Alongside the opening ceremony, Lenovo hosted a high-level visit to its Riyadh manufacturing facility. The delegation included Minister Al-Seif and several cabinet-level officials from multiple government entities, as well as prominent chief executives from the public and private sectors. They were received by Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

During the visit, the delegation met 28 recently graduated Saudi engineers who had returned from China after completing Lenovo’s Saudi Smart Manufacturing Graduate Program. The program was carried out in partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and the company Alat. The engineers trained at Lenovo’s global manufacturing facilities and are now based in Riyadh, positioned to become the first generation of Saudi technical leaders at the facility.

Lenovo regional headquarters: Role and Strategic Significance

The Riyadh office serves as the central hub for Lenovo’s strategy and operations across the META region. Its opening reflects the company’s decision to anchor regional decision-making, collaboration, and future investment in the Kingdom. Riyadh’s growing status as a global business and technology center was a key factor in the location choice.

The headquarters is also a core element of Lenovo’s broader strategic cooperation with Alat. It complements ongoing investments that include an advanced manufacturing facility with a production capacity of up to two million personal computers and smartphones, a research and development center, talent development programs, and a customer experience center.

Executive Comment on the Opening

Tariq bin Khalid Al-Anqari, Senior Vice President and President of Lenovo META, said the opening marks a clear statement of the company’s long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia. “By anchoring our regional leadership and operations in the Kingdom, we strengthen our ability to serve customers across the region, invest in local talent, and contribute meaningfully to Vision 2030,” he stated. “Riyadh will play an increasingly important role in Lenovo’s global growth story.”

The headquarters covers more than six markets across the region. It is expected to improve collaboration with clients and partners, enable faster and more locally aligned decisions, and support future investments in skills development and strategic partnerships.

Location and Broader Investment Context

The office is located in Al-Majdoul Tower, one of Riyadh’s prominent commercial landmarks, situated within the city’s growing innovation and business district. The tower hosts government entities, investment institutions, and leading global companies. Lenovo’s combined initiatives in the Kingdom are designed to support the creation of thousands of local jobs, enable knowledge transfer, and generate long-term economic value. The company said Riyadh’s role in its global operations will continue to grow as the Kingdom advances its position as a hub for advanced technology and digital transformation.
