Meta Glasses have officially launched in partnership with eyewear manufacturer EssilorLuxottica to deliver hands-free artificial intelligence assistance. The new product line builds on previous smart eyewear technology while introducing updated frame designs and materials starting at 299 USD. Consequently, users can access digital tools directly through their eyewear throughout the day.
Design and Style Options
The product line debuts with three distinct frame styles to accommodate different user preferences. Specifically, the Adventurer frame offers a classic rectangular shape in standard and large sizes, while the Fury frame provides a thicker silhouette. Additionally, the company designed a slim oval frame in collaboration with Kylie Jenner to reflect her personal style.
Customers can choose from 26 different style and lens combinations at launch. Furthermore, the frames are fully compatible with prescription lenses to ensure daily usability for more consumers.
Hardware Features of Meta Glasses
These smart devices incorporate several hardware upgrades, including three-way adjustable nose pads for a customized fit. Notably, a dedicated action button allows users to quickly activate the built-in artificial intelligence features. Meanwhile, open-ear speakers deliver audio without blocking environmental sounds, which helps users remain aware of their surroundings.
The hardware also includes an advanced multi-microphone array with wind noise reduction for clear voice calls. Moreover, the built-in camera allows hands-free photo and video capture, supported by privacy settings and physical indicators. Finally, the battery provides over eight hours of continuous use, while the portable charging case offers up to 40 additional hours.
Integration with Muse Spark AI
The eyewear is the first to launch with the Muse Spark model from the Superintelligence Labs division. This model powers the rebuilt assistant, enabling improved multimodal capabilities to process both visual and auditory information. As a result, the assistant can answer questions about real-time sports scores, recommend local restaurants, and manage calendars.
Software Updates and Global Availability
The developer plans to introduce several software updates in the coming months. For example, a new dynamic photo feature will automatically capture multiple frames and recommend the best shot. Meanwhile, pedestrian navigation will soon bring turn-by-turn directions to these displayless devices.
The company is also adding live translation support for 14 new languages, including Japanese, Mandarin, Hindi, and Korean. Currently, Meta Glasses are available for purchase in several countries through official online stores and select retail partners.
