OMODA O5 SHS-H will launch in the UAE this September, expanding the brand’s electrified vehicle portfolio in the region.
The automotive manufacturer OMODA & JAECOO announced the upcoming release of this hybrid vehicle, which combines fuel efficiency with contemporary crossover styling.
Technical Specifications and Performance
The vehicle features a 1.5-litre turbocharged hybrid engine with a thermal efficiency of 44.5%.
This engine is paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission and a high-performance battery system to manage energy utilization.
Consequently, the hybrid powertrain delivers a combined output of 224HP and 310Nm of electric motor torque.
Drivers can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds while utilizing selectable Eco and Sport driving modes.
Furthermore, the vehicle offers a combined driving range of up to 1,000 kilometres under WLTP testing standards.
This range allows for travel between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the Northern Emirates with fewer fuel stops.
Design and Safety Features of the OMODA O5 SHS-H
Adopting the Art in Motion design philosophy, the OMODA O5 SHS-H features a matrix-inspired front grille and dynamic body lines.
In addition, safety systems include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Assistance technologies.
The vehicle body structure is built with high-strength materials, and the hybrid battery includes dedicated protection systems.
Engineers tested the vehicle in temperatures ranging from -30°C to +60°C to ensure reliability during summer conditions in the UAE.
Meanwhile, the hybrid system provides smooth acceleration and transitions between electric and petrol power to reduce cabin noise.
Market Expansion and Future Technologies
The upcoming launch aligns with the company’s growth in the UAE, where it has surpassed 5,000 vehicle sales.
Currently, the brand operates seven showrooms, a UAE subsidiary, and a regional spare parts distribution centre in Jebel Ali Free Zone.
Later this year, selected models will introduce Super Intelligent Valet Parking, a Level 2 assisted parking system.
Long-Term Mobility Vision
The company is also developing its AiMOGA intelligent framework, which combines artificial intelligence, robotics, and smart mobility solutions.
This system, alongside the OMODA O5 SHS-H, represents the brand’s long-term strategy for connected transportation.
Other upcoming models in the hybrid lineup include the OMODA O4, OMODA O7, JAECOO J5, and JAECOO J7 SHS.
