Sony has expanded its smart devices portfolio with the BRAVIA Theatre lineup, introducing a range of soundbars, subwoofers, and rear speakers alongside the BRAVIA 3 II television. The company made the announcement in Riyadh on March 26, 2026, targeting both new home audio setups and existing system upgrades.
BRAVIA Theatre Lineup: Soundbars and Speaker Systems
The BRAVIA Theatre lineup includes the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 soundbars. Optional accessories include the BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8, and BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 speakers. Sony designed these products to produce a wider surround sound field for home cinema use.
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 features nine speaker units, including up-firing and side speakers. It incorporates Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology (360SSM), which delivers surround sound from a single soundbar. The system also supports room-calibrated audio and is compatible with optional subwoofers and rear speakers for expanded bass and surround performance. Users can access IMAX Enhanced content through this configuration.
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 operates as a 3.1-channel system paired with a wireless subwoofer. It uses S-Force PRO Front Surround, Vertical Surround Engine, and Sony’s upmixer technology to generate three-dimensional surround sound for film and television content.

Subwoofers and Rear Speakers
The BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9 carries two 200mm driver units with vibration-cancelling dual opposing drivers, extending bass into ultra-low frequencies. The BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8 features a single 200mm driver unit with deep bass extension. Both subwoofers support dual subwoofer play, a first for the BRAVIA Theatre series. The BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 uses an 80mm up-firing speaker to enhance rear-channel audio and create multiple phantom speakers within the 360 Spatial Sound environment.
BRAVIA 3 II Television
Sony also introduced the BRAVIA 3 II, a mid-tier television available in sizes up to 100 inches. The set uses the XR Processor found in Sony’s premium TV range, combined with XR Triluminos Pro for wide colour gamut reproduction, contrast, and detail rendering. Sony developed the BRAVIA 3 II in cooperation with MediaTek Inc., integrating Sony’s signal processing with MediaTek hardware to reduce content-dependent noise.
The BRAVIA 3 II supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. It also supports 4K at 120Hz and includes four HDMI 2.1 ports, making it suitable for gaming applications. The television ships with a redesigned Inclusive Remote Control featuring optimised button layout, distinct shapes, and clear spacing for tactile navigation. A Remote Finder function assists users, including those with visual disabilities, in locating the remote.

Availability in the Middle East
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8, BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9, and the BRAVIA 3 II television will all be available in selected Middle East countries from July 2026. Sony distributes its products in Saudi Arabia through Modern Electronics, a subsidiary of the Al Faisaliah Group, which operates 11 Sony World stores and the SonyWorld.sa platform across the Kingdom.
