The artificial intelligence startup has closed the Twin1 AI seed round with $20 million in fresh capital to expand its enterprise digital twin platform, according to Wamda. The funding round was co-led by Saudi Arabia’s Aramco Ventures alongside Bessemer Venture Partners and Tribeca Venture Partners.

Enterprise Architecture and Platform Mechanics

Founded in 2025 by Dr. Lewis Z. Liu, Tom Cahn, Huiting Liu, and Dr. Jonathan Budd, the enterprise software company builds digital twins for professional knowledge workers. In addition, the platform connects to existing tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, and SharePoint to map daily communication patterns and business context.

Furthermore, the system incorporates six layers of rules-based and model-driven governance controls. These controls govern data flow across individual nodes without bypassing user permissions or organizational data boundaries in modern cybersecurity architectures.

“In every knowledge organization, the human is the atomic unit of knowledge. The opportunity with AI is not to flatten people’s expertise into generic output, but to connect and amplify their unique knowledge, judgment and context.”

Dr. Lewis Liu, Co-Founder and CEO of Twin1 AI

Twin1 AI Seed Round Investor Syndicate and Expansion

The successful Twin1 AI seed round drew participation from institutional funds including EJF Ventures, Tin Alley Ventures, AGI House Ventures, Neo, F-Prime, Btech Consortium, Antiportfolio Ventures, Lakestar, Notion Capital, and Insiders. Strategic backing also came from law firm Orrick, alongside individual technology executives and investors from Wiz, Dawn Capital, and Notable Capital.

Consequently, the company plans to use the new funds to expand engineering and operational teams in San Mateo, California, and London. Management also plans to accelerate go-to-market initiatives across regulated business sectors within the broader economy.

Commercial Deployments in Regulated Industries

The platform has operated with enterprise clients across legal services, financial institutions, and energy operators for more than a year. Specifically, participating organizations include law firms Linklaters, Orrick, and Dechert, alongside Customers Bank and Aegis Energy.

Meanwhile, early deployment data indicates the software automates between 30% and 50% of routine communication tasks for knowledge workers. Enterprise tools access governed context through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, allowing teams to query verified information across connected departments safely.

Market Outlook and Sovereign Infrastructure

Looking ahead, the completion of the Twin1 AI seed round supports growing demand for sovereign software architectures. The platform supports single-tenant, private cloud, and SaaS deployments, which prevents vendor lock-in to specific model providers and preserves proprietary corporate data.
