Vertiv CoolPhase Perimeter PAM air-cooled range has expanded with new cooling system ratings and condenser models across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The company said the solution combines energy efficiency with environmental compliance, targeting improvements in power usage effectiveness and total cost of ownership.
The expanded range now includes the Vertiv EconoPhase Pumped Refrigerant Economizer, integrated into the CoolPhase Condenser system. This technology uses a pumped refrigerant circuit that operates at lower power levels compared to traditional compressors. The system uses R-513A refrigerant, which features 70% lower Global Warming Potential compared to R-410A, with non-flammability and low toxicity characteristics.
Compliance and Environmental Features
The cooling system meets EU F-Gas Regulation 2024/573 requirements. Sam Bainborough, VP thermal management for EMEA at Vertiv, said the new air-cooled models address environmental compliance and operational efficiency challenges. The system aims to lower power usage effectiveness through enhanced free-cooling capabilities.
“With this latest addition to the Vertiv CoolPhase Perimeter PAM range, we’re making our direct expansion offering more flexible while addressing two critical challenges faced by data center operators today: environmental compliance and operational efficiency.”

Technical Specifications and Integration
The Vertiv CoolPhase Perimeter PAM range includes variable speed compressors and staged coil technology. The system integrates with CoolPhase Condenser units through Liebert iCOM control. Moreover, the design incorporates patented filter technology as part of a unified system approach.
The pumped refrigerant economizer technology reduces energy consumption while maintaining system reliability. Consequently, operators can achieve space savings alongside performance improvements. The solution targets small, medium, and edge data center applications across the EMEA region.
Service and Support Infrastructure
Vertiv’s global service organization provides support throughout the equipment lifecycle. The company offers services from design and commissioning to ongoing optimization. Furthermore, the thermal chain product line includes comprehensive maintenance programs for continuous reliability.
Market Availability and Future Outlook
The expanded cooling system range is available now across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The solution forms part of Vertiv’s broader portfolio of thermal, power, and IT infrastructure products. As data center operators face increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions, demand for low-GWP cooling solutions is expected to grow in the region.
