Vertiv CoolPhase Wall, a wall-mount cooling system designed for small IT spaces and edge environments, is now available across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), the company said on March 31, 2026. The system is built to run continuously in critical compute environments and delivers up to 60% greater airflow than standard comfort cooling systems.

Addressing the Gap Between Comfort Cooling and IT Requirements

As distributed computing grows more central to business operations, compact IT environments increasingly require thermal control designed for sensitive electronic systems. However, many facilities still rely on comfort cooling systems built for human occupancy rather than the high sensible heat ratio (SHR) and elevated airflow demands of IT equipment. Vertiv CoolPhase Wall targets this gap with a purpose-built system that provides the required SHR alongside integrated monitoring and control capabilities.

Vertiv CoolPhase Wall: Technical Specifications

The Vertiv CoolPhase Wall features a split system with an indoor wall-mounted cooling unit, occupying zero floor space. Variable-speed compressors and variable-speed fans allow the system to modulate output according to heat load demand, improving energy efficiency and reducing operational costs. The system handles thermal loads up to 11 kW and operates reliably in outdoor ambient temperatures ranging from -35°C to 48°C.

For local management, the system includes the Vertiv™ Liebert® iCOM™ operational control interface, enabling configuration and supervision of key operating parameters. Moreover, onboard remote communication capability provides real-time alerts and operational status through a secure web interface, extending visibility beyond the physical site.

Environmental Compliance and Refrigerant Choice

The system uses R-32 refrigerant, a low global warming potential (GWP) alternative that reduces environmental impact while maintaining thermal performance. This positions the product ahead of the European Union’s F-Gas regulations, which restrict the use of high-GWP refrigerants. Consequently, organizations deploying the system can align their infrastructure with evolving environmental requirements without additional retrofitting.

“As IT continues to expand into areas that were not originally intended for high-density electronics, the demand for adaptable and energy-efficient cooling solutions is increasing across EMEA. The Vertiv CoolPhase Wall is engineered to support continuous operations, enabling customers to maintain reliable, efficient thermal performance in small IT rooms and edge sites year-round.”

Broader Thermal Management Portfolio

The Vertiv CoolPhase Wall expands the company’s thermal management portfolio, which covers precision cooling for edge deployments, enterprise data centers, and high-density artificial intelligence environments. The portfolio ranges from room-based cooling to direct-to-chip liquid cooling and rear door heat exchangers. Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) operates in more than 130 countries and is headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, USA.

The launch reflects broader demand across the telecommunications and enterprise sectors for compact, energy-efficient thermal solutions as edge computing infrastructure continues to expand into non-traditional spaces. Organizations in the Middle East and Africa can now access the system through Vertiv’s regional distribution channels.
