Vertiv announced the new high-capacity rack platform on June 10, 2026, to accommodate heavier and deeper IT equipment. The new platform addresses the physical challenges of modern computers and infrastructure deployments. Specifically, the rack features static and dynamic load ratings of up to 4,500 pounds, which equals 2,045 kilograms. This design delivers up to two times higher dynamic capacity and 1.3 times higher static capacity compared to conventional rack designs. Consequently, operators can move fully loaded racks within the data center facility without risking structural failure.

The fully welded construction of the Vertiv Rack Extreme includes integrated airflow and cable management features. For instance, the system utilizes a high open-area mesh door alongside flexible rail systems to optimize cooling. In addition, standard features like vertical cable bars and corner rack power distribution unit mounting bars simplify the installation process.
