ZTE AI network integration strategy was presented at the 2026 GSMA LATAM 360 Summit in Mexico City on May 15, 2026. Ms. Chen Zhiping, Chief International Ecosystem Representative of ZTE, delivered a keynote address outlining the company’s approach to helping Latin American operators transition from connectivity providers to digital economy enablers.
The strategy centers on a two-way model where artificial intelligence strengthens network capabilities while networks support AI development. This approach aims to reshape business models for the AI era and create new growth opportunities across Latin America’s digital economy.
AI-Native Network Technology Deployment
ZTE has implemented AI-Native network technology across multiple Latin American countries. The company’s new 5G BBU integrates intelligent computing directly into network layers, improving overall hardware and software resource efficiency. According to ZTE, cell throughput increased by 20 percent through this integration.
Energy efficiency represents a significant benefit of the deployment. By combining Super-N high-performance power amplifiers with AI optimization technology, equipment energy consumption decreased by 38 percent. Over 37,000 units of AAU and RRU products equipped with this technology have been deployed across Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, and Peru, generating annual electricity cost savings for regional operators in the millions of dollars.
Autonomous Network Operations and AIR Net Solution
ZTE’s AIR Net advanced intelligent network solution enables what the company describes as autonomous driving for networks. This system transforms operator maintenance models and reduces total cost of ownership. The solution has received L4-level certification from the TM Forum, marking a significant technical achievement. ZTE’s Co-Claw enterprise-level intelligent agent has been fully implemented internally to support network automation and intelligence improvements.
Scenario-Based Coverage Solutions Across Latin America
ZTE addresses diverse network environments through targeted deployment approaches. In indoor scenarios, the company partnered with Chilean operator Millicom to deploy the Qcell solution, delivering gigabit-level coverage throughout buildings. For remote rural areas, ZTE collaborated with Brazilian operator Claro on the RuralPilot solution, designed to provide low-cost network coverage across the Amazon region with simplified maintenance requirements.
The company offers multiple home coverage solutions tailored to specific regional and scenario needs across Latin America, addressing connectivity gaps in diverse geographical and environmental conditions.
ZTE’s 2025 Global Strategic Vision
ZTE released a global strategic vision in 2025 titled “All in AI, AI for All, Becoming a Leader in Connectivity and Intelligent Computing.” This framework aligns with the core themes of the GSMA Summit. The strategy involves moving beyond traditional network connectivity services, upgrading foundational network capabilities, and expanding AI and intelligent computing business operations. Ms. Chen stated that this vision directly supports Latin American operators’ transformation into digital economy enablers rather than traditional service providers.
Ms. Chen said ZTE will continue operating in the Latin American market, deepening AI and network integration innovation, and implementing full-stack ICT solutions to support operator transformation and meet the intelligent computing needs of industries and households across all scenarios.
