CyberHero has launched the world’s first humanoid robot sports league in Riyadh on September 9, 2026. The inaugural event, organized by Hero Esports, marks the start of a competitive circuit scheduled to visit eight cities worldwide.

Debut Combat Event in Riyadh

The launch event hosted the Middle East’s first humanoid robot combat tournament inside a custom arena. Two teams competed using EngineAI T800 humanoid robots, managed by digital creators AboFlah and Bashar Arabi. These robots stand 1.73 metres tall, weigh between 75 and 85 kilograms, and operate with 29 articulated joints to punch, kick, and walk.

Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation, welcomed the tournament to the capital. In addition, the event included a live performance by electronic music producer Tokyo Machine, merging physical technology with gaming entertainment.

Expanding the Robot Sports League Worldwide

Hero Esports intends to stage the robot sports league across four geographic regions: the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Two of the eight planned stops will take place in the Middle East. The initiative aims to bring physical artificial intelligence from research laboratories into live arenas.

“CyberHero was born from a bold idea about the future of competition: that robots can be pushed to test their limits, break new boundaries and improve through data generated in competition.”

Team Structure and Technology Roles

This robot sports league relies on a collaborative team structure split into three distinct operational roles. Builders engineer the physical bodies of the machines, coders program their intelligence, and drivers make real-time decisions during matches. As mechanical systems advance, organizers plan to add new sporting disciplines beyond combat.

Hero Esports is establishing a dedicated technology laboratory at its Shanghai headquarters to gather international engineering talent. These developments support broader innovations in smart devices and robotics software.

Future Operations and Partnerships

As the international schedule develops, organizers are seeking host venues, technology suppliers, and university research teams. The company is also discussing commercial agreements across tourism, sports, and entertainment sectors. Backed by Savvy Games Group and Tencent, Hero Esports organizes more than 7,000 competitions annually and continues to expand its technology-driven live events.
