Infobip AgentOS is now live as the cloud communications company marks its 20th anniversary, signaling a shift from experimental artificial intelligence pilots to full enterprise deployment. The company, founded on 13 April 2006 in Vodnjan, Croatia, used the milestone to outline its strategy for the agentic AI era.

Co-founders Silvio Kutić and Izabel Jelenić started Infobip with a €25,000 loan. The company grew without external funding until 2020, reaching a billion-dollar valuation before its first outside investment round. It expanded from core SMS into an omnichannel platform covering more than 15 natively integrated channels.

What Infobip AgentOS Does

Infobip AgentOS unifies customer data across marketing, sales, and support into a single AI-native orchestration layer. The platform is designed to let enterprises deploy agentic AI at scale while keeping human oversight in place. It addresses a specific problem: research conducted with MIT found that only 5% of generative AI pilots currently deliver measurable business value, with fragmented data and disconnected systems cited as the main barriers.

The company is also working to connect search intent directly to RCS for Business conversations, enabling real-time engagement from search results. This positions Infobip within the broader telecommunications shift toward channel-native, contextual customer interactions.

Agentic AI Predictions for 2030

Infobip predicts that personal AI agents will autonomously manage complex customer interactions by 2030, handling tasks from travel booking to billing resolution, and communicating directly with a brand’s own AI systems. Gartner forecasts that by 2028, AI agents will outnumber human sellers tenfold, though fewer than 40% of sellers are expected to report productivity gains from those agents.

The company said contextual, channel-native responsiveness will become the baseline expectation for every brand interaction by 2030. Infobip’s technology currently reaches over seven billion mobile devices across six continents, connected through more than 10,000 connections, including 800-plus direct operator connections.

Co-Founders on Two Decades of Growth

Izabel Jelenić, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Infobip, reflected on the company’s origins.

“When we registered the company, the commercial court initially rejected the name. We had to explain to the clerk why we chose ‘info’ and ‘bip’, arguing that bip captured the beep of the now nostalgic Nokia 3310 message sound that everyone recognised. Making the case for ideas before the world catches up is what we have always done, and it is exactly what we are doing now with agentic AI.”

CEO and Co-Founder Silvio Kutić said the company’s two decades of infrastructure building prepared it for the current moment in AI development.

“Twenty years gives you perspective. We have watched communication evolve from SMS to omnichannel to conversational AI, and what is coming next is the most transformative shift yet. We’ve spent two decades building the global infrastructure and enterprise trust that the agentic AI era demands. We are entering our most ambitious chapter.”

Recent Industry Recognition

Infobip has collected several analyst rankings over the past two years. In February 2026, Juniper Research named it the number one Established Leader in its RCS for Business Leaderboard. Gartner placed Infobip in its Magic Quadrant for Communications Platform as a Service for the third consecutive year in July 2025, positioning it furthest in Completeness of Vision. Frost and Sullivan recognized it as a growth and innovation leader in its CPaaS Frost Radar in October 2025. The company said its focus remains on what it set out to do in 2006: use technology to bring people closer together. With AgentOS now in production, Infobip is positioning that original goal within the context of autonomous AI-driven customer communication.
