LG indoor units for air-to-water heat pump systems have a new lineup, with LG Electronics introducing the Combi, Hydro and Control Units at Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2026 in Milan, Italy, from March 24 to 27. The three models expand the company’s heating portfolio for residential applications across Europe.
All three units share a consistent design language that earned a 2026 iF Design Award. Each model features a 6.8-inch color touchscreen, built-in Wi-Fi, and remote access through the LG ThinQ app. A front-panel LED indicator lets users check operating status without navigating menus.
Compact Form Factors for Tighter Spaces
The units are sized for European residential environments, where utility rooms and installation spaces are often limited. LG reduced the volume of each unit compared to previous models by integrating key hydraulic components and refining the internal layout. This gives installers more flexibility when working in utility rooms or closets.
LG Indoor Units: Model-by-Model Breakdown
The Combi Unit handles space heating, cooling and domestic hot water in a single configuration. It includes a 200-liter Duplex stainless steel tank and water temperature sensors for stable hot water output. Rear piping connections add installation flexibility, and the Two-Zone variant integrates a mixing pump group and buffer tank to reduce setup complexity.
The Hydro Unit is more than 30 percent smaller in volume than its predecessor, the HN1616/39HC NK0. It includes a built-in three-way valve, a drain pan, and a 12-liter expansion tank. Front-access design and a bracket-type mounting system allow single-person installation depending on site conditions.
The Control Unit avoids direct hydraulic connections entirely, using terminal block wiring to manage the heating system instead. This approach allows installation in tighter spaces. Built-in heater control logic also reduces the need for separate accessory components during setup.
R290 Refrigerant and System Compatibility
The new units are designed to pair with LG’s R290 Monobloc outdoor systems. R290 is a natural refrigerant with a Global Warming Potential of 0.02, based on EU regulation 2024/573 and IPCC Sixth Assessment Report figures. The combined system delivers heating at ambient temperatures as low as -28°C and domestic hot water output up to 75°C, though performance may vary by installation conditions.
The monobloc design connects indoor and outdoor units through water piping only, removing the need to run refrigerant pipework through interior spaces. This simplifies installation and reduces potential points of failure inside the home.

Release Timeline and Availability
LG plans to release the new indoor units in Europe during the first half of 2026. Availability will vary by country. The lineup targets residential customers seeking energy-efficient heating solutions that meet tightening European environmental standards.
LG’s Eco Solution Company, which oversees the HVAC business, also manages the company’s electric vehicle charging operations. The division positions both segments as key growth areas for the broader LG group going forward.
