LG Electronics has completed the setup of its LG LED displays at the newly opened Terminal 3 of Frankfurt Airport in Germany. Located in the central Marketplace, the installation aims to improve digital brand communication in a high-traffic international passenger environment. Notably, the airport operator selected the technology provider after a rigorous evaluation of several technical solutions.
Technical Specifications of LG LED displays
The project features two large-format LG LED displays in the duty-free area, spanning approximately 115 square meters in total. Specifically, each display features a resolution of 6,240 × 1,485 pixels. These LG LED displays deliver consistent image reproduction even under challenging lighting conditions. Consequently, they are designed for continuous deployment in heavily trafficked areas.

Fire Safety and Regulatory Compliance
In addition, the installation incorporates an advanced safety design to help slow the spread of fire in the event of an incident. The solution complies with VdS 6024, Europe’s fire safety standard for electrical and electronic equipment. Furthermore, it meets the requirements of the CE Low Voltage Directive and the CE Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive.
Collaborative Project Delivery
Media Frankfurt, which oversees the media concept and commercialization of advertising spaces across the airport, commissioned the project. Meanwhile, Ben Hur carried out the technical implementation and systems integration. This project brings together the expertise of airport operator Fraport, Media Frankfurt, Ben Hur, and LG.
“Airports demand display solutions that can operate reliably around the clock while meeting the highest standards for safety, durability and visual performance.”

Global Aviation Display Expansion
Beyond Germany, the company has secured contracts to provide commercial display solutions to major airports around the globe. Currently, its displays and signage are active in major airports across Europe, including Italy and Hungary. Moreover, the company has deployed solutions in South Korea, the United States, Argentina, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.
To strengthen its market position, the company plans to expand its commercial display lineup with products like LG MAGNIT. Last year, the company also applied its proprietary security system, LG Shield, to its standard signage models. As a result, these products offer enhanced security capabilities for critical infrastructure.
